The AMBA Appreciation Awards program was established to acknowledge AMBA members’ valued contributions and introduce dedicated, creative and innovative individuals and clubs to their peers on a national level. The awards promote teamwork and recognise activities that increase the profile of AMBA within local and national communities.

Fiona Lally
Eastern Area Multiple Birth Association
Awarded to an individual or club who embodies one or more of the AMBA values and has delivered a service or benefit outside the defined role or expectation of their club or committee position. This club or individual will have demonstrated the value in an exceptional manner, leading to the betterment of multiple birth families within their local area or their state.
Fiona demonstrated the value of ‘Respect Unity’ in her work as AMBA Victoria President. She has uniting clubs across her state by building strong relationships and providing opportunities for them to work more collaboratively. Fiona has attended club meetings right around Victoria and set up communication channels for Presidents and clubs. She has actively recruited to ensure clubs are represented on the state committee and her vision of an AMBA Vic Website and Facebook page are now a reality

Awarded to an individual or club who embodies one or more of the AMBA values and has delivered a service or benefit outside the defined role or expectation of their club or committee position, or within a national project team role. This club or individual will have demonstrated the value in an exceptional manner, benefiting the wider multiple birth community of Australia.
Joanne demonstrated the value of ‘Inspire Action’ by raising awareness at the NSW state government level of the heightened risks the multiple birth families face. Representing affiliated clubs as president of AMBA NSW, Jo prepared a submission will real life case studies and examples highlighting the gaps and lack of support services that our member families face at each stage of their multiple birth journey. Joanne along with AMBA Chairperson Ashlee Tenberge, were able to formally present this paper at a Government enquiry in parliament.

Awarded to an individual, or individuals, who have undertaken a significant project that improves the welfare of multiple birth children and their families throughout Australia. This is a prestigious award that reflects the unwavering commitment to AMBA by Pat Stewart for over 30 years. Her impact was groundbreaking, within Australia and overseas.
Phillipa demonstrated the value of ‘Inspire Action’ with her development of an expectant parent information webinar. As president of AMBAQ, she wanted to ensure this important service was accessible to all families, including those who lived in rural and remote areas. Phillipa shared this resource at a national level so that all AMBA clubs could utilise this valuable resource to support families expecting twins, triplets or more.
